eBay has announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with Klarna, bringing the fintech’s BNPL payment solutions to the US market.

The move marks a significant milestone in eBay’s global payments strategy, as it seeks to enhance affordability and choice for millions of American shoppers.
This deepening collaboration builds on Klarna’s successful rollout across several European markets — including the UK, France, Italy and Spain — since December 2024.
US buyers will now be able to use Klarna’s ‘Pay in 4’ option, allowing purchases to be split into four interest-free instalments, as well as access Klarna Financing for larger-ticket items.
High-demand categories such as electronics, fashion and collectibles have seen strong uptake in Europe, and eBay anticipates a similar trend in the US.
“We’ve been very pleased with Klarna’s impact across key European markets,” said Avritti Khandurie Mittal, eBay’s Global Payments VP.
“This expansion offers our US customers more flexible, affordable ways to pay — across everything from refurbished tech to vintage handbags.”
Klarna’s new integration with eBay also includes its in-app resell feature, launched in December 2024.
This function allows users to list previous Klarna purchases on eBay with a few taps, pre-filling descriptions and images.
Over half a million listings have already been created via the Klarna app, reinforcing a shared commitment to circular commerce and sustainable consumption.
For Klarna, the partnership underscores its growing role as a payments infrastructure provider to leading global retailers.
“We’re excited to support millions more shoppers across the US with smarter, more personalised ways to pay,” said Klarna CCO David Sykes.
This move consolidates Klarna’s position as a key enabler of embedded finance while reinforcing eBay’s broader strategy to evolve its financial services ecosystem.
